Early Start Australia Box Hill South has been providing services to children and adolescents since 1996

We provide speech pathology, occupational therapy, psychology and assessment services to help children and adolescents develop to their full communication, developmental and physiological potential. Our therapy services are delivered in our clinic, via telehealth as well as in school and community settings or via remote visits.

No matter where you’re at on your therapy journey, we offer a range of services, programs and evidenced-based therapies to realise your goals.

Programs

As part of your therapy journey your therapist we may recommend some specific therapy programs to assist in achieving your goals including:

Providing a unique approach for reading disorders based on what is known to be the best practice in reading intervention.

Understand the specific education, language and literacy issues that are occurring and enable your child to receive targeted, evidence-based intervention to address their specific difficulties.

Run during the school holidays these programs and camps are a great way to boost your child’s therapy participation and meet others.

Facilitated by our therapists, group programs are a fun way to meet others and create connections while learning and developing skills.

We run small social skills groups for children experiencing difficulties fitting in at school or with their peers.

Kate Down

Kate is a Speech Pathologist with experience across a range of settings, including public hospitals, community health, and private practice. She has worked at the Early Start Australia, Box Hill South clinic since 2014.

Kate takes a relationship and strengths-based approach to her work and is passionate about multi-disciplinary and collaborative care. Kate has worked with young people from birth to teenagers, with particular interest in infant mental health, and working with infants and young children.

In addition to her ongoing clinical and leadership contributions, Kate has a passion for research in the field of speech and language development.

She presented at the Speech Pathology Australia National Conference in 2012 and 2016 and her work has been published in academic journals.

Robyne Dimante

Robyne Dimante is a Speech Pathologist with over 20 years of experience. She has worked in schools as well as several leading Private Practices in South Africa, Sydney and Melbourne before commencing with Early Start Australia, Box Hill South in 2020.

Robyne has had experience in Business Development and has been affiliated with business management outside of the allied health sphere. Robyne combines her clinical knowledge and business experience to develop, plan and support clinicians and staff to deliver best practice models of service to clients and their families.

Robyne has a passion to help and support individuals and their families to succeed within a supportive and wholistic environment. Maintaining the highest level of support, communication and individualised programs is paramount to a clinic’s success.

Genevieve Ackland

Genevieve Ackland is a Speech Pathologist with over 12 years of experience. She has worked for The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development within schools as well as several leading Private Practices in Melbourne before commencing with Early Start Australia, Box Hill South in 2014.

Genevieve strives to include a neurodiversity affirming approach and use evidence-based practice in her work.

Genevieve has worked with clients from preschool age to adolescents and she has a passion for working with autistic individuals, including taking families through diagnostic process. She also has a particular interest in working with speech and language delays as well as supporting individuals to have the tools to be able to communicate in and navigate social situations in a way that is true to themselves.
