Strengthening Community Connections

Partnering with Local GPs for Better Outcomes
In September, Temika, our Christies Beach Practice Principal and Senior OT, had the pleasure of visiting both the AHA Seaford Day & Night and Seaford Meadows clinics to connect with their dedicated teams of doctors and nurses. These visits were an important opportunity to share more about Early Start Australia, who we are, what we do, and how we can work together to support children and families in our community.
During the presentations, we explored how Early Start Australia provides early intervention and therapy services, who we support, and the ways we can collaborate with local GP clinics. We also discussed when and how to refer children who may be showing signs of developmental delay or other concerns.
GPs and nurses are often the first point of contact for families, and their role in identifying early signs of developmental challenges is vital. By building strong, responsive relationships with local clinics, we can ensure that referrals are actioned quickly and appropriately, giving children the best chance to thrive through timely support.
These partnerships are a key step in creating a more connected, informed, and responsive network of care for our community. We’re grateful to the teams at both clinics for their warm welcome and shared commitment to early intervention.
If you’d like to know more about how we work with local health professionals or how to refer a child, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
